Policies influencing the management and use of natural resources at national and EU levels have evolved considerably in the past decades as underpinning objectives have widened to meet societal needs (food security, environment, energy, climate change, etc.). However, this process has been fragmented and incomplete. In addition the technology and information available to decision-makers have advanced significantly in this time.
The FP7 ERA-NET Sumforest invites to submit relevant research proposals in the call for transnational collaborative research projects. The call opens on the21st March 2016 with a closing date for proposals on the 17th June 2016.

We are happy to announce the PROFOUND training school – Forest Models for Forest Management organised by Marek Fabrika and his colleagues, which will take place in Zvolen (Slovakia) from 5th-7th of September 2016.
The EURO Working Group on Operations Research in Agriculture and Forest Management is organizing a Workshop on Optimization Under Uncertainty in Agriculture and Agrifood Industry in Lleida, Spain, from 5-7 September, 2016. The purpose of the workshop is to bring together researchers interested in optimization under uncertainty and applications in agriculture, sustainable supply chain and agrifood Industry. Other related areas connected with previous topics are also welcome.
Since 2002 the EURO-WG on Decision Support Systems publishes a newsletter, edited by the EWG-DSS Coordination Board each year.
