PROFOUND Training School - Forest Models for Forest Management

We are happy to announce the PROFOUND training school – Forest Models for Forest Management organised by Marek Fabrika and his colleagues, which will take place in Zvolen (Slovakia) from 5th-7th of September 2016.

The training school aims at offering a comprehensive overview of forest models for forest management, model categories, measuring data and parameters for the models and technologies in forest modelling. Model categories and examples of the models will be introduced, different data capturing and processing technologies will be presented and applied (field GIS systems, terrestrial laser scanner and drones) and new technologies for modelling and visualisation will be exercised on example of SIBYLA model and CAVE (Computer Aided Virtual Environment) system. Examples of optimisation techniques will be introduced.
