Vacancy in the Field of Operations Management

INESC Porto is seeking two highly motivated researchers in the field of Operations Management for a 3-years research grant. The successful candidate will investigate novel simulation and optimization approaches for planning and control the forest logistics operations from forest-to-manufacturing. This work will be conducted under the framework of the project EasyFlow: A collaborative platform for coordinating the logistics in the forest-based supply chain towards sustainability, and supervised by Dr. Alexandra Marques from INESC TEC and Dr. Pedro Amorim from Faculty of Engineering of University of Porto.

Applicants must have a Master Degree (or Degree) in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Forest Engineering or similar. Applicants should demonstrate solid background in Operations Research techniques. Good standard of written and spoken English is essential. Good programming skills and knowledge in forest planning and preference factors. Strong motivation for doing the PhD in this research area is highly appreciated.

Two positions for 3 years are now available, starting June, 2016 (exact date to be discussed). The research grants will be yearly renewed. The grant conditions are attractive (e.g. include health insurance and voluntary social security monthly payments) and a good working performance is rewarded.
