EMDS

Latest features of the Ecosystem Management Decision Support System, version 8.0

The Ecosystem Management Decision Support (EMDS) system is a spatial decision support system for environmental analysis and planning that has been under continuous development since 1995. In this article, the authors (the EMDS Consortium) summarize major recent advances in the EMDS technology that have been implemented over the past several years. There is a lot of very significant new functionality. Have a look!

EMDS update summer 2017

The Ecosystem Management Decision Support System is heading toward version 5.5. Recent updates to the system include support for tactical planning (deciding which possible management actions are highest priority in a management unit). This feature is currently supported by both Criterium DecisionPlus, a multi-criteria decision support system (DSS) that has been part of EMDS since 2002, and VisiRule, a recently added DSS that uses graphically-based decision trees with powerful support from its underlying Prolog engine.

PNW Station announces release of EMDS version 5.0

The Pacific Northwest Research Station, in collaboration with the private, non-profit EMDS Consortium, announces release of version 5.0 of the Ecosystem Management Decision Support (EMDS) system. EMDS is a spatial decision-support framework for environmental analysis and planning that brings logic processing and multi-criteria decision analysis to integrated, multi-scale spatial decision support. At version 5.0, EMDS has been completely re-engineered and optimized, resulting in more than 10-fold improvements in processing speed and database handling capacity.
