EMDS 5 news update

BayesFusion (http://www.bayesfusion.com/) has teamed up with the EMDS Consortium (http://emds.mountain-viewgroup.com/) to bring the power of Bayesian networks to the Ecosystem Management Decision Support (EMDS) framework (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ecosystem_Management_Decision_Support). With this latest addition, the Consortium will now provide an integrated spatial decision support application development environment that offers
• fuzzy logic processing from NetWeaver Developer (http://rules-of-thumb.com/),
• multi-criteria decision analysis from Criterium DecisionPlus (http://www.infoharvest.com/ihroot/index.asp),
• prolog programming from LPA (http://www.lpa.co.uk/), and now
• Bayes nets from GeNIe and SMILE (http://www.bayesfusion.com/).
Full integration of the interfaces and their engines is expected by Fall 2016.
In the meantime, EMDS 5.1 is almost ready for release, and this release adds a new tactical planning component to the EMDS framework that can be used in stand-alone mode, or in combination with logic processing and strategic planning components as needed. Lastly, by late Spring, the EMDS Consortium plans release of 5.2, which builds on the 5.1 release to add a sophisticated framework for designed management actions that implements important components of Carl Steinitz’ geodesign process within the EMDS framework.
