Call for papers "Sustaining Ecosystem Services in Forest Landscapes"

This is the last call to submit your abstract for the IUFRO 2015 biennial Forest Landscape Ecology conference on "Sustaining Ecosystem Services in Forest Landscapes". Researchers are invited to submit a paper for an oral presentation to the symposium on “Ecosystem Services and the Need to be Incorporated into Forest Management Practices to Balance Multiple Uses at Different Scales”.

Presentations are welcomed that relate forest management and conservation efforts within an ecosystem services perspective. It is particularly important, to provide examples worldwide in order to grant different insights on the spatial explicit distribution of ecosystem services and how they can be influenced by forest management (land use, climate) and its relation with monetary and non‐monetary values. It will be important also to present Spatial explicit methods that could help to identify and map trade-offs and conflicts among different services (e.g. timber productivity and biodiversity conservation to balance different interests) providing operational solutions towards planning efforts.

Within the framework of the Symposium there is the aim:
1) to promote discussion on how the concept of ES is supporting integrative forest management;
2) to evaluate possibilities to produce a joint synthesis paper among authors or discuss the interest to produce a Special Issue.

An abstract of 200 words needs to be submitted (http://iufrole2015.to.ee/eng/abstracts) by March 15, 2015 by mentioning the symposium name, through the conference abstract submission system see details http://iufrole2015.to.ee/eng/abstracts

The conference will be held in Tartu, Estonia, 23-30 August - Visit the site for more details http://iufrole2015.to.ee/. This is the official conference of IUFRO 8.01.02 Working Party Division 8

Looking forward to see you in Tartu this summer!
