Special Issue on Theory and Applications of AHP/ANP

In 2014 the European Commission (EC) defined Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) as that one in which “societal actors work together during the whole research and innovation process in order to better align both the process and its outcomes, with the values, needs and expectations of European society”. The concretion of this framework of RRI has been articulated by the EC around six key areas: government, public engagement, gender equality, science education, open access and open science and ethics. The indicators to measure these dimensions have been proposed recently.

Our aim is to provide tools for policy and decision makers that might need to identify the more important criteria and indicators in a specific context.

This Special Issue of IJAHP therefore offers a forum for dissemination and discussion of the relationship between RRI and AHP/ANP. Conceptual, empirical or experimental results that are discussed in a national or international context are welcomed.

Suggested topics for this Special Issue on AHP for RRI are (list not exhaustive):

  • Engagement of RRI Stakeholders
  • RRI in an international comparable context, e.g., Europe vs. US
  • RRI and Sustainability
  • Measuring Gender Issues
  • Measuring Public Engagement
  • Methodological aspects of RRI
  • Indicators of RRI
