ForestWISE aims at developing research, innovation and transfer of technology activities in order to enhance the competitiveness of the Portuguese forest industry and to minimise the negative effects of rural fires.
ForestWISE CoLAB emerges as an R&D&I institution with emphasis on knowledge transfer that brings together the multiple interdisciplinary areas that are relevant for building up a holistic and cohesive approach for the problem of rural fires and the directly related problem of the valorization of forest (market and non-market) products and services.
For the implementation of this new research lab in forest and fires in Portugal (www.forestwise.pt), staff of around 20 people, including PhDs and master holders are recruited.
