Closing Workshop FOCUS

The FOCUS (Advances in FOrestry Control and aUtomation Systems in Europe) project aims to advance the forestry supply chain through the development of solutions that combine control, monitoring and planning. Making use of advanced sensors technologies to support the management of the operations in the forest sector.

The key component of FOCUS is the FOCUS Platform.  It is a tool based on an innovative model-based control to support  forest economic processes. It significantly improve levels of automation and management in harvesting and production equipment and  the interoperability between equipment and higher level control and management systems. This is in fact a qualification for Model-based control of the target economic processes since this approach will support real time information relevant at each level of control.
