SSAFR 2021

Date:
08.08.2021

The 19th Symposium on Systems Analysis in Forest Resources (SSAFR 2021) will be held in Estes Park, Colorado on August 8-11, 2021.

Since 1975, SSAFR has been the premier international forum for operations researchers, systems analysts and management scientists studying forestry, natural resources management and environmental problems. SSAFR is a true international community. We welcome speakers and attendants of diverse academic and cultural backgrounds.

SSAFR 2021 encourages scientists, managers and industry participants around the globe to submit papers that promote systems analysis, decision science and quantitative analysis in forestry and natural resources management. In addition, SSAFR 2021 also seeks for the innovative research and applications of data science and machine learning to address forest and natural resource management problems.

Estes Park is the most visited mountain village in northern Colorado. It is known for outdoor adventure, wildlife and scenic beauty. It is a base for the Rocky Mountain National Park, home to wildlife including elk and bears, plus miles of trails. The park’s Trail Ridge Road winds past craggy peaks, forests and tundra. Nearby are the wilderness areas of Roosevelt National Forest.

Topics at this symposium include, but are not limited to:

· Forest management and planning

· Forest transportation and supply chain optimization

· Wildfire management and decision support

· Forest health, invasive species and wildlife habitat management

· Data science, statistics and machine learning in forestry

· Spatial optimization

· Stochastic process, simulation and optimization

· Quantitative analysis in forest and wildfire economics and social science

· Watershed management
