Interested in how forest woody biomass can contribute to the new bioeconomy? The division of forest nature and landscape at KU Leuven has a new PhD vacancy on the BioWood project investigating exactly this. In the BioWood project, you'll be working on defining the future available biomass spatio-temporal specifically in Flanders whilst upgrading the Sim4Tree DSS. You'll also be working in a larger team of chemists, economist & human and animal health engineers to really evaluate the full chain feasibility of a biorefinery in Belgium.
